The lesson to be learned here is if you are a NBA Player, regardless of what people say to you on social media it is better to block than to reply. Even though this particular fan didn’t say anything that derogatory toward Amar’e his reaction will cause him to be $50k lighter in the wallet.
Personally, I don’t think it is the NBA’s business what a player Tweets on his personal account and I don’t think Amar’e should have been fined.
I thought he was soft talking through in DM, but it is his personal account. Not the Knicks and not the NBA account, but the agreement the players have signed allows them to be fined, so he will just have to deal with.
I understand players get a lot of nasty Tweets from fans and I have no problem with them replying to those Tweets, just chill on the gay slurs and be a man speak to them on the Timeline if you want to be a keyboard gangster.
