Long time NBA veteran Antonio McDyess has decided to call it a career. We’ve learned from our friends at that after the San Antonio Spurs were eliminated by the eight seeded Memphis Grizzlies, McDyess had the following to say:
“This was my last game,” the 16-year veteran said. “I’m pretty definite on that. But this was not the way I wanted it to end.”
It’s sad that many will remember McDyess as a role player on some pretty good teams in Detroit and San Antonio only. It can be said that had McDyess not suffered through his spell of leg injuries, he would’ve had a pretty stellar career. Being able to bounce back from the injuries and still contribute at a high level to championship teams indicates just how good McDyess could’ve been.
