B.J. Upton is heading a few hundred miles north, will still be on the east coast, but can now start to study the pitching in a new league.
CBSSports.com is reporting that Upton and the Atlanta Braves have reached a tentative agreement on a 5 year $70 million deal pending a physical.
Upton batted .246 last season with 28 homers and 31 steals.
Upton will provide power and speed for a Braves lineup that definitely needs it.
The signing of Upton will definitely allow Michael Bourn to move on.
The next question is whether or not Bourn ends up here in Philadelphia, even though he would definitely not be the Phillies first choice.
