Somebody better hold PETA back from Declan Garrity once they find out what this man did to his roommate’s cat.
What’s more concerning about this is the fact that it’s a young person who did these monstrosities to a poor cat. 24-year old Declan Garrity has been fired by Barclays after they found out what he did to a roommate’s cat.
A 24-year-old Barclays analyst charged with torturing his roommate’s cat in their Upper East Side apartment is no longer employed by the bank, according to a new report.
Declan Garrity “is no longer with Barclays,” a spokesperson for the British multinational bank told CNBC on Wednesday night.
Garrity is charged with felony aggravated cruelty to animals for allegedly repeatedly beating and burning his roommate’s cat, Lucy, over the course of three months.
He had been on administrative leave since his arrest in February, when the owner rushed the injured 8-pound cat to the vet.
“Sadly, this kitty has suffered from broken ribs, legs, burns and teeth and claw damage,” the owner, who has remained anonymous, wrote in a gofundme.com pitch for help with vet bills.
What’s odd about this is that there hasn’t been a reason given as to why he did these things to the cat. Garrity is due back in court on April 28 but I’m sure he’s going to have a hard time finding a job since his face is on the news for terrible acts.
