Well we can never say UCLA head coach Ben Howland isn’t honest with himself. After sweeping the season series with a 74-69 victory over No. 11 Arizona last night, Howland confirmed what most already knew, star freshman guard Shabazz Muhammad would definitely be one and done.
“No doubt about it,” Howland said.
According to CBSSports.com, Howland’s honesty about the situation came as a shocker to some.
“This wasn’t meant to be an announcement for Shabazz,” Howland later said with a smile. “I’m just being honest. … Just keeping it real.”
Shabazz Muhammad could only laugh when informed of his coaches announcement, and stated himself, “I’m happy I came here and represented UCLA.”
Muhammad who many draft experts consider to be a top 5 pick, had 18 points and 3 rebounds for the 22-7 Bruins.
