This hasn’t been the best Wimbledon outing for 5-time champion Serena Williams. After being ousting in the women’s singles competition by Alize Cornet, Serena and her partner and sister, Venus Williams, have announced that they are withdrawing from the doubles tournament.

Serena appeared disoriented and doctors came on the court to check her temperature. Her eyes were clearly glassy.
Serena last won the Wimbledon title in 2012. It hasn’t been the best year in tennis fro Williams. The loss in the singles competition marked the third consecutive grand slam where she has faltered in the early rounds, and she’s failed to make it to the quarterfinals in four of her last five majors. Williams is now 32 years old, so Father Time may be catching up with her.
