Booger McFarland has become the butt of jokes weekly each time Monday Night Football airs on ESPN. Fans use memes and made-up Booger quotes to highlight the generic nature in which McFarland goes about giving his version of color commentary.
The fans aren’t the only ones who have taken notice of Booger McFarland’s obvious and at times painful commentary, players are joining in with jokes of their own. Mid-broadcast Green Bay Packers Davante Adams took to twitter to give his best impression of Booger McFarland which was pretty spot on with what we’ve grown used to hearing on Monday Nights.
All of the attention being paid to Booger McFarland’s shortcomings in the announcer booth is a far stretch from the previous year where Jason Witten received most of the criticism. Witten has moved on to return to the NFL after retiring for a year, this move seems to have exposed Booger McFarland’s lack of creativity as a broadcaster.
