The Boston Celtics aren’t having one of their better seasons and with the loss of Rajon Rondo, it doesn’t appear to be getting better. After their loss Monday night, Head Coach Brad Stevens said he needs to do a better job at not only improving this team but his coaching.
“I don’t know,” the coach said. “I’ve got to figure out how to coach this team better. I’m not doing a very good job. We’re not playing well, and we’re playing almost — it’s not good basketball. We’ve got to do a better job playing good basketball. I’ll figure out the rotations later, once we start playing good basketball and once we all are very focused on very good basketball. And that’s on me. I’ve got to do a better job.”
Brad admitting that the team isn’t playing great basketball is the first step in correcting any problem. He identifies that something is wrong. He seemingly put all the weight on his shoulders with the recent losses they have encountered. Jae Crawford, who came in under the Rondo trade to the Mavericks, had some words regarding the state of the Celtics.
“I don’t know what (Stevens) can do to prepare,” Crowder said, “but when stuff like this happens, I guess (he can) hold guys accountable early and just don’t let it keep happening. We just kept digging ourselves in a hole. I just feel like you have to hold guys a little more accountable.”
Crawford is right. Stevens is going to have to pull this together at any cost. Sulking isn’t going to help any situation; When the head coach isn’t happy, it can be reflective on his team. Stevens can turn this team around and push them, its not like the east is incredibly stacked.
