Ronde Barber will turn 38 years old next month and has spent 16 years in the NFL. Speculation has been rampant in regards to whether or not Barber would return for a 17th year, and if he would spend it with Tampa Bay.
Around The League is reporting that the Buccaneers and general manager Mark Dominik have indicated that the team wants Barber to return in 2013.
“Coach (Greg) Schiano and I met with Ronde this past week and expressed our desire for him to return to play another season with the Buccaneers,” Dominik said. “He asked us for some time to make his decision and we certainly respect that.”
Barber will be an unrestricted free agent on Tuesday, but is open to, and wants to retire a Buccaneer.
