After the firing of Marty Mornhinwheg, the New York Jets feverishly searched for a replacement to run their offense. Today, Tuesday Jan. 20, the Jets have found their guy.
Chan Gailey will join the Jets as their offensive coordinator, bringing years of NFL coaching experience to the team.
Gailey has been the head coach of the Buffalo Bills (2010-2012) and Dallas Cowboys (1998-1999), in addition to being the head coach of the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets (2002-2007).
Gailey comes to the Jets with offensive coordinator experience as well, serving as the OC for the Denver Broncos (1989-1990), Pittsburgh Steelers (1997), Miami Dolphins (2000-2001) and the Kansas City Chiefs (2008).
The Jets plan to have a formal press conference introducing Gailey and recently hired head coach Todd Bowles and GM Mike Maccagnan Wed. January 21 at 11am EST.
