BSO was in recently painted blue Harlem, while Adidas and Chelsea FC invaded the cultural hub of Manhattan to promote youth soccer as part of Adidas backed #BeTheDifference campaign.
In addition to showing off the club’s new home and away kits for the 2015-2016 season, the event gave young soccer fans the opportunity of a lifetime, to not only interact with their favorite soccer stars but play in front of them.
Some of New York’s most promising young soccer players gathered for an epic 2 on 2 tournament, with the final round being judged by none other than some of the biggest names on Chelsea FC.
In attendance were Oscar, Cezar Azpilicueta, Gary Cahill, Diego Costa and Eden Hazard, who watched and cheered on the players who played fiercely under the sweltering sun showing off their honed skills in front of the enthusiastic crowd.
The campaign also celebrated the plans for a new indoor soccer facility for the youth of Harlem to have a year-long place to play soccer.
The iconic $3 million initiative helmed by Chelsea FC will feature a sprawling blue painted pitch for kids throughout the urban metropolis to fully live out their love of soccer. Also, the facility benefits the community as a whole, offering internship and job opportunities.
Of the facility, Chelsea FC managing director, Christian Purslow stated:
“We are delighted to be here alongside our colleagues from FC Harlem and our partners Chase, Yokohama Tire, Delta Air Lines and adidas on this exciting new project which will see an iconic new sports facility in the heart of Harlem,…Chelsea and FC Harlem are passionate advocates of what soccer can deliver for communities, empowering children and strengthening neighborhoods.”
