A class-action lawsuit over head injuries has been filed against high school football and is heading to court. The suit was filed against the Illinois High School association over their concussion protocols and management. This suit is only for Illinois but the goal is to sue every state so as to improve the way they handle and try to prevent adolescent brain injuries.

“It’s the first-ever class action filed against a state high school association,” said attorney Joseph Siprut, who filed on behalf of 29-year-old Daniel Bukal. Siprut also is the attorney who filed the class action against the NCAA over concussions — the one that has reached a preliminary settlement with the NCAA that could change the rules of the college game if it’s approved by a judge.
This is long overdue, as the brains at such a young age are so much more fragile. The harm from concussions are already bad for full developed brains, imagine one that is still maturing?
