The ever-slumping Cleveland Indians had as miserable an end of season as could be. During the month of August they went a pathetic 5-24, to equal the worst month record in the franchise’s history.
Altogether the Indians are 21-50 after the All-star break, and have decided now after three seasons under Acta to cut him loose. It hasn’t been all bad though under the Acta-era there were glimmers of hopes as the Indians started off fast last season only to fade, and this year as well they crashed and burned.
Acta has said he does want to manage again, and is hopeful that another team will be interested in services. As for the Indians who stand currently with a 66-91 record, Sandy Alomar has taken over as interim coach and they struggle to get healthy. The woes of Cleveland sports teams lives on.
