Johnny Manziel is still without a football home.
His agent had originally set Wednesday as a deadline to reach a contract agreement with the CFL’s Hamilton Tiger-Cats. Well, that time frame has come and gone, here’s what the Tiger-Cats had to say about the matter in an official statement via ESPN.
“While the discussions with Johnny Manziel and his representative have been very cordial and informative, there is nothing imminent and nothing to report. We will continue to do our due diligence and will have no further public comment on the matter as we move forward.”
The main issue for Manziel, and his exclusive rights held by the Tiger-Cats, comes down to a matter of money. Zach Collaros, one of the quarterbacks on the CFL club, makes $500,000. Manziel and his agent are seeking at least equal or more on a contract. Manziel also took to Twitter to deny he’s far apart in contract negotiations.

Hamilton has expressed they are willing to look elsewhere for a signal caller if a resolution can not be reached.
