The most recent guest on Paul George’s “Podcast P” was Klay Thompson. Thompson and George discussed a wide range of topics.
The two superstars also engaged in a game in which they each selected a team composed only of shooters from the current league to compete in a five-on-five contest. Some of the NBA’s best shooters were on Thompson’s club.
Starting Five Shooters for Klay Thompson
PG: Stephen Curry
SG: Klay Thompson
SF: Paul George
PF: Kevin Durant
C: Nikola Jokic
George’s team, on the other hand, appeared unprepared in every area. His starting 5 shooters were :
PG: Damian Lillard
SG: Bradley Beal
SF: Keegan Murray
PF: Michael Porter Jr.
C: Myles Turner
Thompson cannot be defeated by George’s side in a five-on-five game. If we were to predict the score, the Golden State Warriors superstar player’s squad would probably win 21-11. In the end, Klay’s team is superior at every position.
On his podcast, George always seems to be assigned to a poorer team for these matches. The same thing took place when he and Draymond Green selected the top-IQ NBA lineups of all time. George can’t be held responsible, though, as he’s always asked to pick second and must exercise extra caution because the normal top players aren’t available.
With the Golden State Warriors, Klay Thompson is still looking for the fifth championship ring
The Golden State Warriors won the NBA Championship in 2022, but they were unable to retain it in 2022–23. In six games, the Los Angeles Lakers eliminated them from the Western Conference Semifinals. Klay Thompson only made it to the second round of the playoffs after missing two complete seasons due to an ACL and an Achilles tear.
Klay believes that despite suffering from so many ailments, he is still fortunate to be in the running for his fifth NBA championship. Klay said “I’m lucky to still be going for five,”. “I have no complaints, I’d do it all over again, injuries and all. I’m still together with the guys I came in with, Steph and Dray. Andre and Steve, it’s special.”
It’s encouraging to watch him maintain such incredible tenacity despite suffering back-to-back potentially career-ending injuries that kept him out of action for more than two years. In the 2022–23 season, the 33-year-old had 21.9 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 2.4 assists per game.
These are still excellent figures, and they could be able to speed up the process by which the Dubs win another championship.
