I have seen Darren Barker fight a few times and only seen Geale fight once. From what I had seen, I assume this would be a competitive technical fight.
I was wrong.
Over 12 rounds, Geale and Barker threw power punch after power punch in one of the best fights of the year. The 6th round of the fight will go down as a possible round of the year.
Barker seemed to be in control when a beautiful body punch from Geale short circuited his whole body. 99 out of 100 times when someone gets hit with that type of body shot the party is over. But, somehow Barker made his way to his feet and just when it looked like the ref was about to stop the fight, he came back in the last 30 seconds of the round to rock Geale.
From that point on it was a back and forth affair and while either fighter could say they thought they won, it was the fans who were the true winners. Don’t be surprise if we see a rematch in the near future.
