We all know that there is nothing wrong with the cameraman.
We also know there wouldn’t have been any criminal charges if this had happened in Vegas and not Kansas City, That said, Adams pushed the guy, and when you are worth millions of dollars, that will cost you.
Here is what he has been officially charged with.
Raiders star wide receiver Davante Adams has been charged with misdemeanor assault for shoving a credentialed media worker after Monday’s loss in Kansas City to the Chiefs.
Adams was cited for an “intentional, overt act” that inflicted “bodily injury,” according to court records released Wednesday.
The man shoved by Adams, a freelancer working for ESPN’s Monday Night Football, suffered whiplash, a headache and a possible minor concussion from the incident, according to the citation.
The charges were filed Wednesday morning in Municipal Court of Kansas City.
Adams apologized after the game, saying the shove “was just frustration mixed with him literally just running in front of me.” The five-time Pro Bowler is facing discipline from the NFL, a source told ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Adams will likely have to pay a fine and maybe do community service. It is unlikely he will go to jail.
The physical injury involved in assault in the third degree must be a minor injury like a cut, scrape and bruise. Injury such as a broken bone, disfigurement, loss of a limb, or requiring surgery and/or hospitalization is a serious physical injury. If the offender causes this kind of injury, the crime is a more serious assault.
Assault in the third degree in Missouri is a Class A misdemeanor except for assault that involves threatening another with immediate bodily injury and assault involving offensive or provocative contact (if the victim is not incapacitated). These two assaults are Class C misdemeanors.
A person convicted of a Class A misdemeanor can be sentenced to up to one year in jail, a fine up to $1,000, or both. A person convicted of a Class C misdemeanor can be sentenced to up to 15 days in jail, a fine up to $300, or both.
