Back in November, magician David Blaine cheated death when his attempt at pulling a Bruce Leroy type stunt went painfully left.
Blaine was attempting to catch a bullet in his mouth. A metal cup that was meant to catch the bullet between the 43-year-old’s lips slipped, the protective mouthguard he was wearing was shattered, and Blaine ended up with a painful cut in his throat.
In front of a live audience at MGM Grand Garden Arena, Blaine fired the bullet himself using a string and was taken away in an ambulance. In a video, Blaine explains that he thought he was dead.
I was sure the bullet went right through my head and that I was dead, and then suddenly I became aware of the pain and it brought me back. At that moment, I realized that the mouthguard had shattered again, and I was alive.
Although he narrowly missed the morgue, Blaine says in the clip, “We’re going to do it right.” At least one of his friends who participated in the initial attempt has vowed to never take part in it again.
At least someone has some sense.
