D’Brickashaw will still be lining up for the Jets this weekend, and possibly the playoffs, so he’s not that betrayed.
Ferguson now says he feels “betrayed” by the NFL after seeing the movie “Concussion” and reading the book it was based on.
“After learning all of this, I feel a bit betrayed by the people or committees put in place by the league who did not have my best interests at heart,” Ferguson wrote.
Ferguson is a union rep for the Jets. He wrote about the NFL and the NFLPA working to increase concussion safety, but questions if it will be enough.“I fear the unavoidable truth is that playing football has placed me in harm’s way, and I am not yet sure of the full extent of what it might cost me,” Ferguson wrote.
Ferguson said he is unsure if he would let his child play football.“If I had a son, would I let him play?” Ferguson wrote. “I struggle to answer this question.”
Ferguson wrote an article for Sports Illustrated, saying he changed his views on concussions and the NFL. He’s just not ready to retire I guess?
