Washington Redskins cornerback, DeAngelo Hall, was critical of the Redskins defense on on Thursday, and rightfully so. The Redskins defense gave up a league high 478 points last season, that’s almost 30 points a game. That is one stat you don’t want to be leading the league in. Hall, gave his opinion on the defense going into the new season.
“We’ve been, I guess, the laughingstock of the league for a while on defense,” Hall said Thursday. “So it’s going to be nice to get out there with a new group of guys.”
The candid moment from Hall got the attention of Redskins linebacker, Brian Orakpo, who was at a nearby locker.
“Laughingstock?? Orakpo yelled with an expletive thrown in for effect.
Hall turned to Orakpo to double down on his statement.
“Hey, Rak,” Hall called out to his teammate. “We ain’t been too good.”
The team has some optimism though with new head coach Jay Gruden giving defensive coordinator Jim Haslett a green light to run a more aggressive scheme, the team hopes a new year brings better results.
