The end of a lowly era is over in Brooklyn.
The Nets have waived point guard Deron Williams, the team announced Saturday.
“I would like to thank Deron for everything he gave the organization over the past 4 ½ years,” said Nets general manager Billy King in a statement. “I would like to wish Deron and his family good luck in the future.”
Williams will clear waivers Monday night, where he’s expected to sign a two-year, $10 million deal with the Mavs.
Deron Williams averaged 13.3 points and 6.6 assists in 68 games last season while shooting a career-low 39% from the field.
