In what was pretty much a foregone conclusion, Derrick Rose was officially announced as the league MVP today. The 22 year old Rose becomes the youngest to ever win the award besting the 23 year age mark set by 1968-1969 MVP Wes Unseld.
Rose received 113 first place votes out of 120 total. Rose’s MVP award is the second award won by the Chicago Bulls organization this week with head coach Tom Thibodeau winning the Coach of the Year award on Sunday.
