The NFL is filled with a lot of bad people, but let’s use some common sense here, the chances of any player being “another Hernandez” are very slim. Most people aren’t going around shooting people just because. Even less people are shooting people who have jobs that trigger a 6 or 7 figure income. This is a horrible comparison and could have been said a lot better.
Jameis isn’t a saint (most of us aren’t), but there is absolutely nothing to suggest he would become a mass murderer. I am going to assume Mr. Boylhart meant the Bucs have to be convince that Winston doesn’t end up being a criminal and not actual murderer, but since he used Aaron Hernandez as an example it is hard to tell. I never like this part of the draft process, there is a way to address a player’s off the field concern without sounding like Nancy Grace.
I know that doesn’t get the attention the hot takes get (I never heard of this guy before 10 mins ago), so I understand why they are doing it, but is it really worth it?.
Twitter had some fun with him.
