I am sure a lot of people have had the urge to punch their in-laws, but rarely does it actually happen. Even more rare that it happens after a baseball game with a star pitcher involved.
But these are the New York Mets here are the details:
Mets’ closer Francisco Rodriguez was arrested at Citi Field after slugging his father-in-law following tonight’s loss to the Colorado Rockies, police said.
K-Rod, as the 28-year-old righthander is known, was charged with assault after he and his father-in-law got into a fight at the Mets clubhouse, police said. The father-in-law was hospitalized with facial bruises and minor head injuries, police said.
Investigators believe the emotional closer threw at least one punch during the altercation, which spilled into the hallway outside the team’s Family Lounge.
Rodriguez was yelling as he was pushed back from the lounge into the hallway, which was crowded with people, including many woman and children, waiting for players after the game.
Looks like he gave him a pretty good beating, but on a positive note at least it wasn’t in front of a daycare or he used an iron or anything to come after him.
