Geno Smith may have just gotten Rex Ryan fired, but at least he’s man enough to admit it.
Smith was extremely candid after the Jets 30-20 loss to the Panthers that left them at 6-8 and staring at a third straight non playoff season.
Geno Smith has 21 interceptions on the season, and only Eli Manning has thrown more. Smith and the Jets know Rex Ryan is hanging on by a thin thread, and according to the Star Ledger, Geno Smith apologized for as he put it, “letting Rex down today.”
“I feel as though I let Rex down today,” Smith said. “He had talked to me about not having a turnover, playing a game without a turnover, and I wanted to do that today.”
