The lawsuit that never ends is now experiencing a new turn of events, since highly famed lawyer Gloria Allred recently filed a motion to withdraw as counsel to Shaquille O’Neal former mistress, Vanessa Lopez, citing fraud.
Allred wrote in her motion: “Despite engaging in all reasonable, diligent and exhaustive effort on behalf of the client, counsel must withdraw as continued representation will likely result in one or more ethical violations…”
Allred used the following rule that’s found in a section of the Florida bar Rules of Professional Conduct that covers fraud committed by clients:
“When a lawyer must decline or terminate representation, the representation will result in violation of the Rules of Professional Conduct or law, the client persists in a course of action involving the lawyer’s services that the lawyer reasonably believes is criminal or fraudulent, unless the client agrees to disclose and rectify the crime and or fraud, or the client has used the lawyer’s services to perpetrate as a crime or fraud, unless the client agrees to disclose and rectify the crime or fraud.”
According to Radar Online, in addition to Gloria Allred, her Florida lawyers were also including in the motion, and a judge signed off ordering Ms. Lopez to seek new representation.
Ever since Ms. Lopez told Shaq she was pregnant, she alleged he did a numerous of things to her including, stalking, having his sisters threaten her, using police contacts to scare her, invasion of privacy, and so much more. Will this case ever end, at this point it should, however I don’t foresee it.
