Sean Hannity took on the Adrian Peterson case and gave a “masterful” defense against the backlash aimed at AP. When challenged by one of his guests and asked if Hannity’s dad ever stuck leaves in his mouth like Adrian Peterson reportedly did to his son, Hannity retorted:
“My father punched me in the face when I talked back to him once and I deserved it.”
Yep, he got punched in the face at who knows what age so it’s perfectly kosher to hit a small child with a tree branch until bloody. Hannity explained how he had welts from being hit by a strap while some of his guests tried to explain the different mentality in todays age of parenting than in he 60’s. Hannity, seemingly advocating corporal punishment, then said how he doesn’t hit his kids.
“I got hit with a strap. Bam, bam, bam. And I have never been to a shrink. I will tell you that I deserved it,” Hannity said. “I think he went too far,” he then said about Peterson. “But I don’t want to see this guy get a felony, I don’t want to see this guy lose his job. He deserves parenting classes.”
Hannity took his belt off and whipped the table in demonstration. What is lost in most of his defense is the fact that this was a 4-year old kid. Watch the video and decide for yourself if he makes a compelling argument.
