Pete Carroll is taking a lot of heat for choosing to pass the ball at the 1-yard line in Super Bowl 49 as opposed to handing the ball off to Marshawn Lynch aka Beastmode. Sutherland, who is a huge USC fan, became good friends with Carroll while he coached at USC, and now he’s coming to defend his friend.
Sutherland insists that Carroll is “an amazing coach,” and everyone just needs to back off. One play can sometimes haunt a player or coach for the rest of their career. Hopefully, the Seahawks can bounce back from the loss, and Super Bowl 49 will become a distant memory for Carroll and the team.
