The Dallas Cowboys loss Demarco Murray this offseason to the Philadelphia Eagles, dousing more lighter fluid to the NFC East rivalry. Demarco led the NFL in rushing yards last year behind what was considered the best O-Line in the NFL and the Eagles’ offensive tackle Jason Peters doesn’t expect anything less from Demarco this year. Peters believes Murray will be running behind an even better O-Line in Philadelphia than he had in Dallas.
“He was the rushing champ last year. He almost broke the record. For him to come here and not duplicate that, that would discredit us a little bit with the Dallas offensive line. We’ve got to make sure he gets his yards. That’s a big challenge. The Dallas Cowboys offensive line is good. We’re just better. We’re going to make sure he gets his yards,” said Peters.
Those are big words from Peters after recent roster moves by both teams. The Cowboys added potentially the best offensive lineman in the draft, La’el Collins and as of today the Eagles loss one of their best lineman Evan Mathis after the team decided to cut him. It will be interesting to see how Demarco works in the Eagles’ system and how the O-line holds up.
