NBA players are known to share some of their most memorable moments of their playing days. Some may be a bit more extreme than others, but never the less they can be rather entertaining. Jayson Williams had a few stories to share on the Vice Sports Podcast about some NBA legends. Michael Jordan was one of the guys that Williams went to speak on.
“Honest to God, he was one tough human being, and it was in anything. If you were drinking a beer, if he looked over and your beer was half full and he was three quarters, he going to finish his beer first. He’s jut got to beat you at everything. He has an addiction to winning.”
The way MJ was so driven to win that may be one of the more believable stories. Williams also had a story to share on Charles Barkley.
“You knew he wasn’t going to win a championship. He was the worst person to play with as a rookie because when you went in you got all the bad habits from him. You stayed out all night, and then you couldn’t figure out why you didn’t have it in the game. It’s because when Charles came to practice he didn’t practice.” Instead of practicing Barkley would sit on the stationary bike and eat eggs, sausage, maple syrup and butter wrapped in a pancake while yelling at his teammates, “Run the floor, you lazy bastards.”
Williams went on to share more stories on Larry Bird, Charles Oakley, Manute Bol, and other things about today’s game.
