‘Jeopardy!’ Champ Amy Schneider hopped on Twitter and let fans know that she was robbed on Sunday, January 2, 2022. Fortunately, she wasn’t hurt physically but she lost her ID, credit cards, and smartphone.
Here is what Amy Schneider wrote on Twitter:
“Hi all! So, first off: I’m fine. But I got robbed yesterday, lost my ID, credit cards, and phone. I then couldn’t really sleep last night, and have been dragging myself around all day trying to replace everything.”
Amy continued saying:
“So, I doubt I’ll even start writing tonight’s game thread today, and if I keep winning, it may take a bit for me to get caught up. Thanks for your patience!”
Amy has been documenting each game and providing behind-the-scenes snippets for her fans on Twitter as they follow along with her groundbreaking win streak. On Monday, January 3, Amy continued her impressive run after winning $42,000 to bring her 24-day total up to $897,600.
Amy is only a few games shy of beating previous “Jeopardy!” contestant James Holzhauer, who set a 32 consecutive game win streak back in 2019.
Here are what the cops are saying.
Oakland police said in a statement they were still investigating the armed robbery that occurred Sunday afternoon and had not yet made any arrests.
Schneider, the first transgender contestant to qualify for the Tournament of Champions, won again on Tuesday’s show bringing her impressive winning streak to 25 consecutive victories, earning her $897,600 in winnings so far.
You have to wonder was it a random robbery or did they see her on TV every day and assume she had a lot of cash on her. Criminals a lot of time don’t think logically and it is possible they actually thought she had $900k in her Coach Purse.
Whatever the case that is very scary, so hopefully they figure out who committed the crime. She might want to move now that she has a little more cash.
