In the midst of having to defend himself to the critics about his partying ways, Johnny Manziel has set some pretty high goals for himself.
Take away the ‘money phone’ antics, ignore the celebrity status and what you have is a man who’s determined to be the best he can on the gridiron.
Manziel did what any confident quarterback would do, he told the media he expects to be the Browns week 1 starter.
And he “absolutely” expects to win the starting Browns job.
Manziel said what any prideful starter is supposed to say and added more.
“I want to play. That’s what anybody wants to do. Anybody that’s been a starter in the past, and been playing, they want to play,” he said. “To say I don’t want to be the starter, that would be ridiculous.
“I absolutely want to start, that’s my goal. Hopefully I can achieve that.”
