Is Jonathan Isaac taking it too far? One of Isaac’s right-wing actions was retweeting NBA players with homophobic nicknames: Karl Anthony Towns as “Karl Anthony Trans” and LeBron James as “Libron Gaymes”.
Charlie Kirk has attacked MLK on multiple occasions, calling him a nasty guy, criticizing his federal holiday and monument, and characterizing the legislation that outlawed segregation and was inspired by MLK as “a mistake.” He has also made racist remarks regarding Black pilots.
Every year, the NBA honors MLK’s life and legacy with a number of events and social media posts, but they now have to deal with a player who publicly links with people who disparage MLK.

Jonathan Isaac and NBA at odds
NBA player Jonathan Isaac will still attend Charlie Kirk’s event in July despite the latter’s racist attack on the civil rights pioneer. How would NBA react to a player who’s clearly friends with someone who hates MLK ?
The “The Believers’ Summit” by Charlie Kirk’s TPUSA Faith division was scheduled for July. Along with other right-wing figures, the Orlando Magic power forward is listed as a confirmed speaker.
Although Isaac had previously spoken at a Kirk event, this would be Isaac’s first appearance with Kirk following his racist comments on MLK and Black pilots. It doesn’t stop there. Kirk attacked Black customer support representatives, calling them “moronic” and “affirmative action” recruits. The man is clearly out of his mind and a racist yet Isaac has no qualms being buddies with him.

Isaac has to be stopped at some point
After deciding not to protest during the playing of the national anthem and not to wear a Black Lives Matter shirt during the NBA bubble, Isaac has established himself as a specialized, anti-woke figure.
Ignoring the athletes who have knelt during the anthem, Isaac stated that his faith required him to stand. He has also introduced a line of shoes and clothing aimed for his newfound MAGA Republicans fan base.
Isaac has continued to interact with more MAGA Republican types, and his social media account has taken on a more right-wing aesthetic. On Thursday, Isaac made fun of a fictitious homophobic tweet referencing players in the “liberal NBA.” LeBron James became “Libron Gaymes,” while Karl Anthony Towns became “Karl Anthony Trans.”
In addition, Kirk disparages LGBTQ people. He has faced a great deal of criticism for his frequent attacks on MLK. It appears that Isaac is not too concerned about Kirk’s criticism of MLK. We can only hope that NBA and Orlando Magic intervene in some proximity and this strange behavior on Isaac’s part stops.
