In a move that was expected, the Carolina Panthers all stood for the National Anthem ahead of today’s matchup with the Saints. All that were on the field that is. Notably absent during the Anthem was veteran DE Julius Peppers.
Like the Steelers, Peppers elected to not be on the field in a show of support against police brutality and the racist, disrespectful comments made by Donald Trump.
The fact that there was no kneeling on the Panthers sideline isn’t all that surprising. CEO Jerry Richardson is one of the few not to make a statement concerning Trump’s comments and the team is fairly conservative.
