The social media were buzzing because they believed they caught a glimpse of Megan Thee Stallion and Justin Timberlake fighting backstage at the VMA awards.
BSO can report that was not the case.
The VMAs are known for drama, real or not, and the first hour of Tuesday night’s show was no exception. During the backstage live feed, a clip showed Megan Thee Stallion seemingly arguing with Justin Timberlake either before or after their performance with Cardi B of their new single “Bongos”. In the clip, Megan can be seen getting ready while the members of NSYNC pass by. Timberlake leans in to say something to her, to which Megan responds by pointing her finger emphatically and then turns away, looking angry. Joey Fatone, a member of NSYNC, can be heard saying something too.
Although it looks like there could be an argument, a backstage source who witnessed the exchange told Variety that there was “zero fight”. According to the source, Timberlake said, “It’s so nice to meet you,” and Megan responded by saying, “No, no this doesn’t count. We gotta meet proper.” The source described the interaction as “very cute”. A second eyewitness source added that “Meg loves Justin” and that “It was their first time meeting and she was excited”. Variety will provide more information on the situation as it develops.
Social media users engaged in heated debates over an alleged negative interaction involving Megan and Justin. However, upon closer inspection, it became clear that the incident was nothing more than a mere misunderstanding. Despite this, the online arguments continued, causing unnecessary stress and confusion.
With hopes of putting an end to the controversy, Megan and Justin may choose to speak out and provide clarity on the situation. Their involvement could help to alleviate tensions and bring a peaceful resolution to the matter.
