The folks at Churchill Downs seem to be beneath the idea of using a selfie stick to take pictures.
Along with banning re-entry into the races — heightening security measures leading up to the 2015 Kentucky Derby and Oaks, caused the action — Churchill added a pair of new technologies — selfie sticks and drones — to its list of banned items in the interest of both fans and competing horses.
As for selfie sticks, drones and other items on Churchill’s banned list, fans attempting to bring them in will be asked either to dispose of or return them to their vehicles. Churchill doesn’t hold for pickup later.
Other items already banned by Churchill include coolers, cans, tents and umbrellas. A full list can be found at KentuckyDerby.com/visit/security-information.
