Mack Brown may have stepped down as head coach of the Texas Longhorns, but he is still very much a part of the team, since he stayed on as a special advisor to president Bill Powers. According to CBS Sports, there may be some controversy brewing in Austin over Brown’s position, since four-star safety recruit, John Bonney, is alleging that Brown encouraged him to look around at other schools during the same week of his resignation.
“I was at my official visit when Mack Brown resigned and he told us to go look around. [He said] he’ll even talk to other coaches for you and everything because he really just wanted the best for us as players.”
If this is indeed true, it doesn’t look too good on Brown’s part for him not to support the university, since they supported him and continue to welcome his presence in their program.
