Who’s the better recruiter, Coach K or Uncle Sam? It’s seems that neither of them have an issue finding a few good men. Duke is currently ranked #5 in the country and the U.S. Army is as strong as ever. Now they have something in common, Marshall Plumlee.
Marshall Plumlee, who is in his third season with the Duke Blue Devils, was sworn into the U.S. Army on Friday morning prior to practice according to ESPN.com. There was a ceremony held at Cameron Indoor Stadium where Coach Mike Krzyzewski and teammates in attendance.
Plumlee, a 7-footer, is four inches taller than the maximum height of 80 inches allowed to join the Army. He joined the Duke ROTC program during the 2012-2013 academic year and was granted a special waiver to join Army.
Marshall has two older brother, Miles and Mason, who are former athletes at Duke and currently play in the NBA for the Phoenix Suns and Brooklyn Nets respectively.
