It looks like Martin Lawrence is using subtle ways to respond to rumors that “Bad Boys 4” is on the chopping block following Will Smith slapping Chris Rock at the Oscars to please his wife Jada Pinkett. According to Martin, there is one more coming!
According to Atlanta Blackstar;
There’s been speculation that the fourth installment of “Bad Boys” would be cancelled following Smith’s Oscars incident with Chris Rock. In March, Smith shocked the world as he walked on stage and slapped the comedian in the face for making a joke about his wife, Jada Pinkett Smith.
But Lawrence says, “We got one more at least.”
Sony Chairman Tom Rothman denied that the production paused “Bad Boys 4” due to Smith’s behavior. In an interview with Deadline in May, he said the action film has “been in development and still is.”
“There weren’t any brakes to pump because the car wasn’t moving. That was a very unfortunate thing that happened, and I don’t think it’s really my place to comment, except to say that I’ve known Will Smith for many years, and I know him to be a good person. The music executive added, “That was an example of a very good person having a very bad moment in front of the world. I believe his apology and regret is genuine, and I believe in forgiveness and redemption.”
Once again Jada Pinkett’s actions just didn’t hurt Will Smith and Chris Rock’s face, but 1000s of other people around the world. If Bad Boys 4 doesn’t get mad, then Martin Lawrence and countless others who would have worked on the movie don’t get paid. Jada didn’t think about when she sent Will Smith on stage like a guard dog to slap Chris Rock.
She really needs to apologize not just to Smith and Rock, but to everyone for her role in this.
