Matt Harvey finally weighs in on his inning limit.
As September is rolling through, Mets fans have one thing on their mind: playoffs. However, it would be great if the team can actually make it there first. The NL East race is still pretty tight. Playfully coined “The Dark Knight,” Matt Harvey is the second thing on fans’ minds. After missing all of last season, he has come back to pitch this year and basically blown us away but just be careful with that arm.
Harvey’s agent Scott Boras has said that Doctor James Andrews set an inning limit to 180 for the season. He’s at 166 so far. He’s scheduled to pitch on Tuesday and then after that, it’s still unclear what’s going to happen.
“I’m the type of person, I never want to put the ball down. Obviously I hired Scott, my agent, and went with Dr. Andrews as my surgeon because I trusted them to keep my career going and keep me healthy. As far as being out there, being with my teammates and playing, I’m never going to want to stop…. Dr. Andrews said his limit was 180. That’s what Dr. Andrews had said, but for me, hey, I’ve got 166 innings. I don’t know any much more than what I have to do Tuesday, and that’s go out there and beat the Nationals.”
Matt Harvey reacts to agent Scott Boras’ suggestion that he ought to be shut down at 180 innings, and whether he will pitch in the postseason.

It’s going to be interesting to see what’s going to happen after Tuesday’s start against the Nationals.
