Mikey Williams’ basketball career could get derailed before he even gets to college.
The 4 star recruit who is committed to Memphis was charged with multiple felony gun charges that include assault with a weapon and firing into an occupied vehicle related to a shooting that happened at his home. Williams appeared in court via videoconference on Thursday and pleaded not guilty on all charges.
He was freed on a $50,000 bond and told he couldn’t possess a gun or ammunition as a condition of the bond.
There is no word yet on how this will impact his freshman season at Memphis but if he is found guilty, it could mean time behind bars.
He’s due back in court for a preliminary hearing on June 29th
