Move over Clippers, the Mets may have you beat as far as protests go.
Mets have grown weary of the unrelenting fat jokes on their RHP Bartolo Colon and have decided to boycott New York Post reporter Mike Puma, who’s been especially harsh on the husky pitcher.
After the very offensive headline ‘LARDBALL’ with Colon’s photo attached, coupled with this very unflattering lede, the Mets decided they have had enough:
If the umpires searched Bartolo Colon’s neck for a foreign substance on Thursday, chances are they only would have found peanut butter.
The Mets formed their protest by refusing to talk to the media until Puma left the clubhouse. One would assume the incident was a one-time thing to send a message to the reporter to lay off their guy. Noble act by the team, sure to strengthen the lockerroom.
