I know which team I am not betting on during the World Cup. It has always been one of those urban legends in sports to not have sex when you are getting ready to compete. My theory is as long as you aren’t having sex 20 mins before the event you should be fine, but that is just me.
Larry Brown Sports breaks it all down.
Mexico coach Miguel Herrera became the latest coach to announce that he will forbid his players from having sex during the World Cup. He also told reporters he’s banning drinking.
“If a player can not endure a month or 20 days without having intercourse, then you are not prepared to be a professional,” Herrera told Mexican newspaper Reforma, via Yahoo! News. “Let’s play a World Cup, we’re not going to a party.”
I get his reasoning, but he still sounds like a Petty Crocker.
