We all know that the Mayweather-Pacquiao fight at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas will be the biggest fight in the history of boxing; what many attending Las Vegas that weekend didn’t know is that they won’t be able to watch the fight itself.
If anyone has been to Vegas for a Floyd fight recently they know that the MGM Grand only allows their properties to broadcast the event and even in those circumstances they are usually only shown in large viewing theatres.
With that being said, reports from TMZ.com stating that the MGM has blocked all other hotels from showing the fight shouldn’t come as much of a shock.
The question now becomes what are fans to do?
Ticket prices to the fight are rumoured to begin at $1.5k for the nosebleed seats and only 1,000 or so tickets will even be available to the public, so good luck getting into the building. Traveling off the strip to a local establishment may work if they purchase the fight but even then it’ll be a packed house.
It looks like people will have to follow along on social media and hit the after parties for the play-by-play recaps of the fight.
