Michael Bennett must think we are all prisoners of the moment. Many of us are old enough to have witnessed the 85 Bears, the Steel Curtain defense and those great Ravens defenses of the past 15 years. Michael Bennett believes this Seahawks defense is better than them all.
After watching the Seahawks have several players on their defense selected to the 2015 Pro Bowl, including cornerback Richard Sherman and safety Earl Thomas, Bennett called them the best ever.
“We’re the best defense to ever play football,” Bennett said. “So when we play the way we play, we’re capable of playing, I don’t think – whatever he did didn’t really matter. It’s just, when we line up and we line up and play the way we’re capable of playing, I don’t think anybody can play with us.”
The Seahawks rank first in the league in yards per play allowed (4.7) and points per game allowed (16.5). Seattle has limited its last five opponents to 33 total points and an average of 193.6 total yards per game.
