The Seattle Seahawks have traded Percy Harvin to the Jets and it seems that there was an unleash of stories about a troubled NFL player.
There is report that during Super Bowl 2014, before the Seahawks/Broncos took to the field, there was a scuffle between Harvin and Golden Tate, which resulted in Tate receiving a black eye. Michael Robinson, who was apart of the Seahawks at the time, said it was him who broke that fight apart.
“Something did go on at the Super Bowl that a lot of fans don’t know about,” Robinson said. “There was an altercation in the locker room between Percy Harvin and Golden Tate. It saddens me because I was a leader on that team and to know that this information got out — usually Pete Carroll-coached teams, this type of thing stays in-house. There was an issue, I physically broke it up, I was there, you would have to ask those guys what they were arguing about, I’m not at liberty to talk about it.”
“We kind of talked about it afterwards,” he said. “I talked to Percy and Golden and they ironed their situation out. But again, you’ve been in locker rooms, these type of things happen all the time. Families fight. That is what is so disturbing. Again, this type of information usually doesn’t get out of that locker room. Why it comes out now, almost a year after the Super Bowl is mind-boggling. “
Robinson is absolutely right, understandable fans/media should know reasons as to why a player is traded but all these character assassinations are coming at an alarming rate against Harvin. He hasn’t responded to any of the accusations but has been posting IG photos of him at the NY Jets facility. I don’t think he should worry about whats being said about him, he should take to the field and prove he’s better than what people are calling him. Sometimes, it takes being a bigger person and rising above the critics. There’s a whole lot of season left, lets see how Harvin responds.
