Even though Game 3 is tonight, Cleveland Cavalier fans are still having nightmares about JR Smith’s mistake from Game 1. Mitch Trubisky is one of those fans.
During today’s minicamp, Chicago Bears quarterback Trubisky told NFL Network reporters that when he was watching the game on television, he was trying to call a timeout for Smith when he was JR Smith dribbling the ball in the last few seconds of regulation.
Now the Cavaliers are home and Trubisky wants to help LeBron James.
“I think I should be coming off the bench to help the Cavs. It’s like I’m a part of the team. I;m one of those guys, it’s like that crazy.”
Is Trubisky any good at basketball? He said:
“‘I’m not crashing boards. I’m just shooting threes. I;m spreading the floor for LeBron, so I’m just going to knock down shots for him if he needs.”
Smith’s last second mistake was watched by the Bears as a teaching tool. Even though Trubisky said it’s hard to watch again, it demonstrates what not to do in that type of situation.
So there is a positive to Smith’s mishap.
