Even after MTV Australia apologized for their odd tweet, it’s clear that whoever is running their account has a weird sense of humor.
When you’re going to make a public joke, make sure that the masses will understand it because otherwise, it will not be welcomed. During last night’s 2016 Golden Globes, America Ferrera and Eva Longoria decided to address the incident which occurred on the Golden Globes official Twitter account.
“Hi, I’m Eva Longoria, not Eva Mendes,” Longoria, 40, said. “And hi, I’m America Ferrera, not Gina Rodriguez,” 31-year-old Ferrera, who was incorrectly identified as the “Jane the Virgin” actress on the official Golden Globes Twitter account in 2015, added.
MTV Australia’s Twitter account decided to jump in the mix with a tasteless joke.

It was not welcomed and they have since apologized for the tweet.
Our Tweet was in reference to @EvaLongoria & @AmericaFerrera’s #GoldenGlobes joke. We sincerely apologise for causing offence.
