Rafael Nadal made headlines at the French Open, but not because of how well he played. Rather it was the watch that Nadal decided to wear to the French Open match that caught the eye of everyone around the world. It’s a Richard Mille design that’s valued at $850K.
Yes, you read that correctly, Nadal was wearing a timepiece worth almost $1 million as he coasted around the tennis court.
“In 2010 here at Roland Garros, it was the first time I played with a watch,” Nadal confirmed on Saturday as the 2015 edition of the tournament was getting underway. “Richard put a lot of work into making the most amazing, extreme watch I have ever seen.”
The interesting thing about Nadal sporting the watch is that it was probably damaged because it’s mechanical. On top of that, it’s a sports watch. There are no flashy diamonds or other precious stones. It’s just a sports watch. Would you pay the asking price?
