I am not a hypocrite, I have made my fair share of Michael Vick dog jokes.
In general, I don’t have a problem with it—you do the crime you have to expect the ridicule. This is something that is going to follow Vick forever.
Some say people should get over it. I agree to an extent, because it doesn’t have anything to do with his current on the field performance. He has done his time and while you don’t have to forgive him, he should be allowed to live and treated with respect.
But similar to Bill Clinton and Monica Lewinski, people are going to take comedic shots at him.
While the New York Post cover could be considered questionable, it isn’t surprising and by getting people talking about it, the effect has been felt.
The best thing for Vick to do is just keep playing at a high level and leave the past in the past. Because while the dogs are chasing him on the cover, they didn’t catch him.
